  Camp Ganga Riviera

Situated on the banks of the mighty Ganga, getting to the camp is in itself an experience. In an effort to maintain the grandeur of an isolated beach and jungle camp, it is situated away from the nearest road head on the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway.

The camp, along with the property attached, would be the largest on the river including 2 beaches, a perennial green field & a waterfall close by.

One has to walk for approximately 2km (30 mins), crossing a quaint jhoola pul (suspended bridge) and the age old pilgrimís path to Badrinath to reach the camp.

Accommodation is on twin sharing basis in comfortably large tents with independent toilets and separate hot and cold showers. The kitchen serves 3 meals a day, buffet style & the buffet may be either Indian, Chinese, Continental or local Pahari food.

With its peaceful setting and serene ambience, the camp is also ideal for meditation and yoga sessions, for both, the expert practiotioners as well as for the inspiring beginners. Sessions can be organized on request in collaboration with specialists from Rishikesh.

Camp Ganga Riviera

A relatively new sport in India, rafting has been on the adventure tourism map for decades now! There is nothing quite like the ‘pure energy high’ one gets from riding foaming white water rapids. At the camp, one can choose between 4 stretches of rafting between Devprayag and Rishikesh. Some sections with some fast action white water rapids, others more calm with opportunities for plenty of budysurfing and birdwatching.
Another water sport that smacks of ingenuity & individuality is kayaking. This is a one-person sport requiring a big heart & great love for the water. At camp, we have our own kayaks with trained instructors to guide you while using the equipment and accompany you in case you would like to paddle around some placid stretches of the river around the camp. We also offer kayaking courses where one can learn the basics of kayaking and eventually attempt to surf through some white water rapids.
Rappelling or Abseiling, is the controlled descent down a rope. Climbers use this technique when a cliff or slope is too steep or dangerous to descend without protection. Done with the help of carabiners, harnesses, descenders, anchor points and safety ropes, as a sport, rappelling offers great challenge and excitement for enthusiasts.
The rappelling face at camp is approximately 50 ft high, a rock surface with good footholds and slight overhangs and our staff is proffessionally trained in usage of al equipment and all safety procedures.
Rock Climbing
Rock climbing is a sport in which participants climb up or across natural rock formations or artificial rock walls. Rock climbing is a physically and mentally demanding sport, one that tests the participant's strength, endurance, agility, and balance along with his or her mental control and determination.
Adjacent to the rappelling face, our natural rock climbing surface is also about 50ft with enough natural cracks and holds to encourage inexperienced enthusiasts as well as overhangs and tricky spots to challenge even the seasoned climbers.
Cliff Jumping
We have cliff jumping points ranging from 5ft to about 40 ft all along by the river side at the camp. Cliff jumping at the camp is with lifejackets, to keep you safe and encourage even the non swimmers, and in the presence of a safety kayaker to bring you back to shore. As an activity, it is an exhilerating experience as well as a challenge, leading to a great sense of achievement and overcoming fear.
Unique to the camp, the hike to the water fall is an activity that truly makes the stay at camp unforgettable. A walk upstream in knee deep flowing water to reach a short 6 foot high waterfall, climbing over it with the help of a rope fighting against a hard current and then wading through to reach a larger waterfall is an experience that one will remember for a long time to come.
Trekking / Day Hikes
The camp is surrounded by pristine forest with numerous trails and paths that one can wander on on foot. There are many villages scattered around within a 1-2 hours walking distance that can be visited and the natural surroundings offer great opportunity to spot some birds and wildlife. There are many caves as well as flowing streams that can be explored in the forest around. Hiking trips can be for a few hours, a full day or even 2-3 days with overnight stays organized in camps with all arrangements for meals as well as tents and sleeping bags.
Evening campfires are a tradition at the camp and we have a dedicated camp fire area to gather in the evenings. We serve complimentary snacks at the bonfire and also offer vegetarian and non vegetarian barbeques on order.

  Rafting Routes
Stretch 1: Devprayag - Camp Ganga Riviera

Starting at Devprayag, where the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers meet in a holy confluence to form the Ganga, this is a long calm section, entirely in a gorge - a perfect calm stretch for plenty of body-surfing. It is especially good for bird watching, photography and spotting wild life. Midway, we stop at the beautiful little village of Byaschatti with a pristine stretch of river beach.
Stretch 2: Camp Ganga Riviera - Marine Drive
Starting from the camp. Daniel's Dip at Kaudiyala to begin with & then the biggest rapid on the Ganga - ‘The Wall’. A stop over before the rapid where our raft guides inspect the rapid and decide on the best currents to catch. This rapid is dealt with differently almost everyday!
Stretch 3: Marine Drive - Shivpuri
The most frequented stretch of rafting, starts with the exciting ‘Three Blind Mice’, a succession of 3 exciting rapids, then an unforgettable stretch of body surfing where one can actually jump in with the waves and swim with slight currents and fast flowing river water.
Stretch 4: Shivpuri - NIM Beach, Rishikesh
The most exciting section of rafting including the famous ‘Roller Coaster’ and ‘Golf Course’ rapids along with the rapids ‘Club House’ & 'Initiation'. A stopover at a cliff jumping point makes an exciting end to this stretch.
